Dear ETUG members and recent participants,
As mentioned at last September’s ETUG conference in Vienna, ETUG will take on a virtual format in 2024. After further reflection, we have decided to try a new approach – rather than a single online event, we have decided to have a series of “ETUG Bitesize” online events held at regular intervals, with the first event in this format taking place in June. This might also make it easier for people to attend alongside their work commitments.
As usual, we would like to ensure that there is a healthy mix of member/participant presentations as well as presentations by RWS staff at our ETUG Bitesize events.
The three dates have been set:
- Thursday 20 June 10:00-12:00 CEST
- Thursday 26 September 10:00-12:00 CEST
- Thursday 21 November 10:00-12:35 CEST
Topics and member presentations
We are considering the following topic areas and welcome member presentations, particular use cases that you would like to share with the ETUG community. We are currently planning to include presentations on the following areas (20 minutes per presentation + 10 minutes of Q&A):
- Terminology/SEO
- AI and Translation
- Term Extraction and Glossaries for MT
Please find attached the agenda for all three events. Updates to the agenda will be published on our website and sent out in regular mailings.
We would also welcome other suggestions that you might have. Therefore, we have kept an open space for the September 2024 ETUG Bitesize event. We would like to discuss submissions at our next Steering Committee meeting on 6 June, and therefore would request submissions by e-mail by 3 June, and to finalise the line-up for the first set of bite size sessions at that meeting.
Fee and registration
There will be one fee to attend all three events: € 100. In case you plan to attend only one or two events, the same fee applies. Full members as well as all speakers may attend free of charge and will receive a discount code for the registration process in Eveeno.

ETUG 2025 – Vienna – 24-25 September 2025: SAVE THE DATE
We are also excited to be able to announce that the 2025 physical edition of ETUG will take place on 24-25 September 2025. We have secured a hotel, the newly opened The Hoxton, which is located by Vienna’s Stadtpark – very conveniently located for Wien Mitte and Wien Hauptbahnhof and very close to the historical centre.
While we realise that September 2025 is still a long way off, we also welcome your feedback about what you would particularly like to see covered at ETUG 2025.
